OTTAWA WINS LOPSIDED STANLEY CUP
Ottawa Ontario - Frank McGee scores 14 goals as the Ottawa Silver 7 beat Dawson City (Yukon) 23-2 for the Stanley Cup. This is the most lopsided playoff game in Stanley Cup history. The Yukon team had walked from Dawson to railhead to be able to play in the tournament.

Henry Mill Pellatt 1859-1939
financier, soldier, was born on this day in 1859 at Kingston, Ontario; died in Toronto in 1939. Pellatt built Toronto's fabulous Casa Loma, now operated for the City by the Kiwanis Club. Here he is in his Queen's Own Rifles regalia (he was Colonel in Chief of the regiment).
Also Robert W(illiam) Service 1874-1958
poet and novelist, born on this day at Preston, Lancashire, England; died in Lancieux, France Sept 11, 1958. Service came to Canada as a young man to serve as a bank manager at Dawson City in the Yukon. He is best known for his rollicking ballads of the frozen North, The Shooting of Dan McGrew and The Cremation of Sam McGee.
