PARATROOPERS
This is Dixon Christie from the production crew of Paratroopers – The Canadian Story. On behalf of myself, Capt (Ret’d) Bill Dickson, and our production crew, we just wanted to write and thank you for your help this year and to wish you a very Happy New Year and wonderful 2010.

It’s been an amazing year and an incredible learning experience for me. We travelled across the Canada and were able to meet and interview our soldiers in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City. We got an official letter from the Department of National Defence to get their support, and we managed to raise a little much needed money to help us along. We were never intending to spend more than a year on the project but now it looks like we may spend three.

Bill says, “After our first trip, I think it became very clear that there would be no way that we could finish this project in November of 2009. I found that there was so much for us to learn and discover, and especially for me, it has been a great learning experience. To quote a cliché, we opened a real Pandora’s box in telling this story, and that, for me, added to the excitement of the project. It added to the need and urgency to capture this story.”

Finally, I’d like to invite you to come to the website at
www.Paratroopers.ca to review some of the many videos that we shot, and are working on. Please keep in mind that they are not all finished, but people have been asking for them so much that we wanted to show you our “works in progress”.

On the website, you can read our summary of accomplishments over the past year on our blog and check out some of the great media exposure we have had.

All in all, it has been a super experience so far thanks to your wonderful support.

if we don’t talk soon, let’s pray to keep our soldiers safe, thank you, bless you and let’s have a drink to peace and prosperity in 2010.
